On the podcast with his brother Jason, Travis kelce expressed his deep appreciation for his teammates, coaches, and fans.

Travis Kelce opened up about the tough loss the Kansas City Chiefs faced in the recent Super Bowl, admitting that “it just wasn’t our day.” On his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis shared his feelings about the game. He mentioned that the Chiefs couldn’t gain any momentum during the match, and he took personal responsibility for some of the small decisions he made on the field.
Travis explained that he felt he wasn’t the best leader during the game, especially in terms of keeping his teammates calm and focused. Reflecting on his experience, he said he was frustrated with himself for not being able to motivate and guide the team in the way he should have.
The Chiefs were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles with a score of 40-22 in the Super Bowl, and Travis admitted it was hard to swallow. He felt the loss deeply, especially given his 12 years of experience with the team and having been in similar high-pressure situations before. The loss was a “hard reality” for him, and he took much of the blame for the outcome.
As one of the NFL’s greatest tight ends, Travis Kelce has seen a lot of football in his career, and this Super Bowl loss was a tough moment to face. Despite the loss, he acknowledged it was part of the game, but it didn’t make it any easier to accept.
On the podcast, he expressed his deep appreciation for his teammates, coaches, and fans.
“I’m really sorry for how it ended,” he said. “But I also have a beautiful life. I’m surrounded by loved ones and the most incredible family that supports me in everything I do. They were all there for me, cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday, even though things didn’t go our way.”
Travis Kelce received a lot of support from his family and loved ones following the Chiefs’ tough loss in the Super Bowl. His parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, were by his side, as well as his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Adding to the support was his brother, Jason Kelce, who took a moment to highlight his sibling’s impressive achievement despite the team’s defeat.
Jason praised Travis for setting a new Super Bowl record for most catches in history. He acknowledged that Travis might not care much about that record at the moment, given the outcome of the game, but emphasized that it was still a significant milestone. “It’s another thing that cements you as one of the best players to ever play in the NFL,” Jason said, underscoring how remarkable this accomplishment was.
Travis, however, wasn’t focused on that achievement at the time, responding candidly, “That’s the last thing that I care about right now.” Jason responded with a chuckle, “I know, but you will… and it’s dope,” knowing that, in time, Travis would come to appreciate the enormity of his accomplishment.
In the aftermath of the loss, Travis also spoke to reporters in the Chiefs’ locker room, reflecting on the game. Despite the defeat, he acknowledged that the team had played below their usual standard.
“We haven’t played that bad all year,” he said, sharing his frustration with the performance. However, he was quick to emphasize the heart and fight of the Chiefs, pointing to their unyielding perseverance. “This team is going to fight until the end forever, and you saw that,” Travis remarked. “Even with the score late, we’re always going to fight.” It was a reminder of the team’s resilience and determination, regardless of the outcome.
